Tories will not make gains in the local elections....but maybe in Norway

Pompous, pathetic jibes and the furthest constituency from Westminster.

Are you thinking what i'm thinking....yes you are aren't you....you are probably thinking of the same country as me. Of course i am refering to the largest local council ward....Norway.

Yes that is how local things get for the Conservative Party. They turn the local elections into international elections. Why worry about our streets being clean when we must surely be more concerned with melting ice caps in Norway.

Mr. Cameron thinks its the General Election.

I apologise for my sarcasm but i doubt that the people of the Mile End & Globe Town ward in Tower Hamlets and in other wards up and down the country are losing sleep over this issue from a LOCAL perspective.

People want cleaner and safer streets. A fairer system of Council Tax. They want their local hospitals to be of the highest standard and not wait for months on end to get a place at a school for their children. People want to know that the 25 Bus Route from Ilford to Oxford Circus will still run and much much more.

Are you thinking what i am thinking....vote Liberal Democrat!!!

Comments:
By the way what are the names of the Liberal Democrats standing in Mile End & Globe Town?

I won't be voting Lib Dem - here in my home ward (Forest Gate South) there are no candidates!

As for the issues you raise:

A fairer system of Council Tax.

Does Sutton have this after two decades of Lib Dem rule? How is voting Lib Dem for your local council going to change this?

People want to know that the 25 Bus Route from Ilford to Oxford Circus will still run

Neither Ilford nor Oxford Street are in Tower Hamlets of course! Surely the bus routes should be reviewed to accomodate new transport needs? Especially as in the medium term Cross Rail is going to basically duplicate the 25's route and London buses are difficult to operate over long distances (why do you think the 25 terminates at Ilford and the 86, which runs on the same route Stratford-Ilford, takes over to Romford?).

People want cleaner and safer streets.

You mean like the mess they were the first time I set foot in Mile End in March 1994 - in the final months of the glory that was Liberal Democrat run Tower Hamlets Borough Council.

They want their local hospitals to be of the highest standard and not wait for months on end to get a place at a school for their children.

Again how are Lib Dem councillors going to perform wonders in Whitehall?

The world does not stop for the local elections. Global warming doesn't go on hold for three weeks and the glaciers don't stop melting.
